Jen Loyle was born in Northfield, NJ. She was always interested in creating art. She was drawing anything and everything at the age of five. She was inspired by her older brother who would sketch portraits of her when she was in elementary school. Oil paint became her medium of choice her sophomore year of college. She graduated in 2003 from The University of the Arts with a BFA in illustration. Her main focus was on children's book illustration. Acrylic paint became her new medium of choice when she started painting on windows. Her current passion is finding old discarded windows with the glass still intact. She typically paints birds, animals and landscapes on them. Her window paintings have been displayed in local cafes, galleries and stores. Some of her paintings have been displayed in the Chester County Art Gallery, The Wetlands Institute in Stone Harbor, NJ, The Schlow Centre Region Library in State College, PA and the Community Arts Center in Wallingford, PA. Some of her mural work is displayed in the children’s room in the Media-Upper Providence Library and on Muralistick.com and was pictured in The Philadelphia magazine in 2011. She currently lives in Media, PA with her husband, son and one extremely grumpy cat. You can find more of her work on her Etsy site: etsy.com/shop/JenLoyleIllustration |
